New location… we are heading to Willow Creek Recreation Area. New course with new distance. We are adding a 3 hour time frame.
Location
Willow Creek State Recreation Area (SRA) is a state park in northeastern Nebraska, United States. The recreation area is located on the 700 acre Willow Creek Reservoir, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Pierce, or about 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Norfolk. The recreation area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Lodging
Willow Creek State Recreation Area offers Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, Equestrian Electric Plus and Equestrian Basic camping.
Willow Way Campground includes 165 campsites with electricity and numerous Basic campsites for those that do not need electricity. Additional amenities include picnic tables, fire ring/grills, drinking water, dump and fill station, modern restrooms, showers and laundry. The dump and fill station is located in the town of Pierce, about 5 miles from the lake. Willow Creek SRA campers can find the dump and fill station next to the Pierce County Courthouse.
Reservations may be made for half of the campsites at Willow Creek SRA and the remainder are available first-come, first-served. Those camping first-come, first-served register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an iron ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided at each iron ranger station. Check or cash only. Iron rangers are generally located near the park entrance or in the campground area. On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process.
Course
limestone hike/bike trail That will be 1.75 miles out and back to equal 3.5 miles. Start will be at Warren G. Otto Picnic area from there you will run heading toward Pierce main trail.
Swag & Award
Awards will be given to the top male and female in each category. There will be no cash prizes, but you will receive a custom plaque
Swag includes a Beast Trail Racing speed cup, sun proof long sleeves , distance specific medals/buckles, and backpacks . Anyone reaching a distance of a half-marathon or marathon will receive a medal identifying these distances. We will have buckles for 50k, 50 miles, 100k, 100 miles, and 150 miles. If anyone reaches 200 miles custom buckle with your name.
Pacers
48 and 24 hours participants can use a Pacer or Pacers after 12 hours.
12 hours can use a Pacer or Pacers after 8 hours
6 hours and 3 hours no pacers
Starting Times & Cutoff
Start times are as follows:
48 hour - 4/24 at 2:00pm (ends 4/26 at 2:00pm)
24 hour - 4/25 at 2:00pm (ends 4/26 at 2:00pm)
12 hour - 4/25 at 8:00am (ends 4/25 at 8:00pm)
6 hour - 4/26 at 8:00am (ends 4/26 at 2:00pm)
3 hour - 4/26 at 11:00am
Race Day Food
We will have some food available at all times: chips, cookies, peanuts/nuts, boiled potatoes, candy, fruits, vegetables, grilled cheese (made to order), peanut butter & jelly sandwich/wrap, hummus, and pickles. Tailwind sports drink will be provided as the electrolyte of choice. We will also have a variety of drinks (water, coffee, pickle juice) and ice available throughout the race as well. The menu will be the same each day. All hot meals will have a vegan/vegetarian option (vegan soup, vegan quesadilla/cheese, veggie burgers, etc).
There will be an unmanned aid station at about the halfway point. Water, Ice, Tailwind sports drink, and a variety of snacks will be available here.

Lunch (12:00pm-2:00pm)
Hot dogs, Wragge Dogs (sort of like a hot dog and bratwurst had a lovechild), hamburgers, and quesadillas.
