A Questionable 50K

Come join us for unfiltered stupidity! Have you ever wondered whether you should run a 50K after eating a greasy burger? The answer is yes, on January 10th.

Clay buys the first round, finish-line burger is on you.

Race Rules:

-Starts with a Double Double ordered at Placerville In-N-Out at 10:30am sharp... when they open. Clay will order all runner's burgers at the same time.
-Run 50K... it's all "downhill" what could go wrong?!
-Your race ends after you finish another Double Double at In-N-Out Folsom. RIP, it's been nice knowing you.

Arrival Times:

9:00am Arrive at In-N-Out Folsom to shuttle to Placerville
9:30am SHARP: Depart for In-N-Out Placerville
10:00am Race Briefing/Poorly Written Speach outside In-N-Out Placerville
10:30am In-N-Out Placerville Opens and we put the first order in
Race starts when you finish your Double Double... 10:50am?

That's the race! The course follows the historic El Dorado Trail, a downhill, remote at times, and poorly maintained "trail" along *mostly abandoned train tracks that link both locations.

Required Gear

Conditions for January 10th are looking very muddy

Required Gear (please reach out if this is your first ultra and I can make a lot more recommendations)

-Headlamp with fresh batteries (see timing below)
-Hydration and fuel to last you throughout the day (aid stations will have water and basic snacks)
-Working cell phone (this course gets out there, and service can be spotty)

Sunset is at 5pm on 1/10/2026. That's a 6ish hour finish time to be DONE. 6hr average pace for this race is roughly 11mins/mile. Use that accordingly with your capability to decide whether you bring night gear.
