What is the Endless Day Backyard Ultra?
How far can you go? Run one lap, or run all day, or even all night! Introducing the Endless Day Backyard Ultra.
This isn’t your typical ultra.
Every 90 minutes, you start a new 6.55-mile loop
Keep going as long as you can… up to 24 hours
Stop when you want—and STILL earn your distance
Earn race milestones:
• 1 lap = 10K (90 minutes)
• 2 laps = Half Marathon (3 hours)
• 4 laps = Marathon (6 hours)
• 5 laps = 50K (7.5 hours)
• 8 laps = 50 Miles (12 hours)
• 15 laps = ~100 Miles
You must complete each lap within 90 minutes. If you do not like the pressure of a “last one standing” event, come challenge yourself on any distance you like and earn a distance milestone medal. But in the end, there will be only one winner - so whoever goes the furthest within the time limits is the winner. If several are still standing on the last lap, whoever finishes that lap first will be crowned the winner.
Just you… the road… and one very long day.
Registration: Priceless.
But since there are expenses to cover, the registration will be based on the number of laps you intend to run, and ias follows:
1: 1-6 laps (10K, half-marathon, Marathon - the fun runs) $65, regular registration; $85 after June 20
2: 7-15 laps (50K, 50 Miles, 100ish miles) $90, regular registration; $110, after June 20
What Can You Expect in Return?

A course you’ll know by heart by the end
Weather Prep & Base Camps
This endless course of dirt farm roads provides you with, if you are lucky, 1% shade. So you will be exposed to Sol 99% of the course. The event is held within one week of the summer solstice, in Central Utah - so it will be light by 6am, and just getting dark after 9pm. It will most likely be sunny and hot and dry (read that -- very dry). So please prepare your gear, hydration, and cooling strategies appropriately. We will all use lots and lots of ice that day.
Any pavement? Just the 2 city blocks from the Nielson Family Park to the farm roads.
Aid Stations: full aid-station spread at the start/finish park area, one full aid station about 1/2 way through (where the Sod Farm Road hits Highway 89, and runners start their 2nd dirt canal road section). Given the potential for excessive heat, two other self-serve coolers will be out.
Base Camp Is there room to set up a personal tent / base camp? Sure, the Nielson Family Park (band new the past two years) is an entire city block, so lots of room to set up your own personal base camp. We'll rope off areas around the start/finish around the Northern pavilion.
Event's current local time: 9:37 AM MT
