Run the Runway, Johnstown PA

Support a community-focused event that offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the airport. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, this 5K provides participants with a rare opportunity to experience the airfield in a way not typically available to the public

Course

The event will consist of a timed 5K run and an untimed 2-mile walk, both conducted on the airfield. Participants will have a unique opportunity to access areas not typically open to the public and view static display aircraft positioned along the course. This experience offers a safe and controlled environment while providing an up-close perspective of aviation assets.

Schedule

Race Day will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026. On-site registration will be available from 7:00 AM to 8:55 AM at 220 Fox Run Road. The 5K run and 2-mile walk will both begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

Registration Fees

Online registration will be open from May 15 through July 30th at a fee of $25.00 per participant. Participants who register after June 30 are not guaranteed an event T-shirt.

Paper registration will be available on the day of the race; however, participants are encouraged to register in advance to ensure availability of event materials and to expedite the check-in process.
All proceeds from the event will support Aerium, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering collaborative economic growth in our region.

Timing and Results

All 5K participants starting the race at 9:00 AM will be officially timed by Central Cambria Cross Country. Awards will be presented to the top male and top female finishers of the 5K event.
