RACE WEEK INFO 👇
We are hard at work planning out the final details of the Bear River Backyard Ultra. We wanted to share some details so you can best prepare for the day(s).
Packet pick up will be at 2173 HWY 136 Delmar, IA (https://www.google.com/maps?q=42.002545,-90.670985&z=17&basemap=terrain)from 5pm-6pm on Thursday November 12th. This will also be when you can set up your crew area. A popup tent or anything similar would be ideal. We would recommend something that you can add walls to if needed. The middle of November can be 65 degrees and sunny or sleeting, windy and 40 degrees. We will offer a late packet pick up from 10am-10:30am before the start of the event, but we highly encourage everyone to make it Thursday if possible.
We will have a basic aid station set up at the start/finish. It will consist of water, GU Roctane Carbohydrate drink mix, chips, and bananas. With that said, you know what works for you. You know what you crave hours into a long run, bring it. Success favors the prepared at a backyard ultra.
We will be sending out an additional email the week of the event, but for now, keep running those yards, get your gear and food prepared, and most of all, get your mind right. This isn’t going to be your Grandma’s 5k.
