They Who Standeth Last

Hark! Do you have what it takes to conquer the hill?

Lord of the Hill is a Last Person Standing format with shrinking lap times until only one remains! Don't let the short distance fool you, this 0.8 mile loop has 233ft gain all in one brutally steep climb. The first lap will give you 18 minutes to complete, then shrink by 60 seconds until the 15 minute lap, after that the laps will decrease by 30 seconds.

Every participant will get their own custom, canvas banner as their coat-of-arms! These banners will be used to visually track those who are still in the running for the crown!

The Victor's Prize

Winner takes all.

The last racer standing will be crowned Lord of the Hill and claim:

• $250 cash courtesy of North Sound Physical Therapy in Lake Stevens


• $50 in Super Jock 'n Jill gift cards


• A North Sound Physical Therapy prize basket, including a branded YETI mug and additional goodies


• A custom 3D-printed Lord of the Hill crown

And perhaps a few more treasures before race day...

During a brief coronation ceremony, the victor will receive their crown and spoils before being permitted to lord their victory over everyone else indefinitely.

The last racer to complete a full lap within the allotted time will be crowned Lord of the Hill. If no racer completes the final lap in time, the fastest time from the previous completed lap will determine the winner.

Arms & Attire

October in Western Washington can be cold, rainy and blustery - be prepared for any weather! Bring your running gear and snacks - water stations will be at the start line and the top of the hill.

This is a medieval-themed event, costumes are encouraged!

Ye Gathering Place

Park in Lord Hill Regional Park's South Lot where there is ample parking in the gravel lot.

Lord Hill Regional Park is a gem in Snohomish county with miles of trails! With that said, we will be sharing the trails with other hikers, bikers and potentially horses, be polite to all trail users!

Thee Course

The course is a 0.8 mile loop that begins alongside the old quarry, starting with an almost flat stretch to the hill itself. Then brace yourself for a glute-burning climb up to the top and immediately turn right. Make up time on the downhill switchbacks through the trees, popping back out by the quarry and finishing the short loop with one, small - and inconsequential really compared to THE hill - rise.
