This event is ONE MILE. EVERY HOUR. FOR 30 HOURS.

The Monster Mash Bash - Run for a Cure is a 30-hour endurance event built around one simple challenge: complete 1 mile every hour and be ready to do it again at the next official start. The closed 1-mile course is an out-and-back route: approximately 1/2 mile out and 1/2 mile back, using trail and road surfaces. The event continues through both daylight and nighttime hours.
START WHEN YOU CAN: The event begins with the first official start at 7:00 AM. Runners are not required to begin at 7:00 AM. A registered runner may enter the challenge at any later scheduled hourly start. Once a runner begins, however, that runner must make every consecutive official hourly start for the remainder of their race.
ONCE YOU START, DON'T MISS A START: Once a runner has entered the event, they must start and complete one full mile during each consecutive hourly round. The mile must be completed before the next hourly start, and the runner must be back and ready to begin again when the next round starts. If a runner misses an official start time, their race is over. There are no skipped hours, make-up miles, late starts after entering the challenge, or re-entry after elimination. Failure to complete the full course before the next start also ends the runner's event.
OFFICIAL 30-MILE FINISH: To complete the full challenge, a runner must successfully complete 30 consecutive hourly miles. A runner who begins after 7:00 AM can participate, but only the official hourly rounds completed during the event count toward that runner's total.
BETWEEN MILES: After completing a mile, runners may use the remainder of the hour to rest, eat, hydrate, change clothes or shoes, receive crew assistance, take care of their feet, or prepare for the next start. Runners are responsible for returning to the start area and being ready when their next official round begins. Race staff are not responsible for waking or locating runners
FRIENDS, FAMILY & CREW: Runners are encouraged to bring friends, family, and crew. Crew members may assist their runner between miles with food, hydration, clothing, gear, and preparation for the next round. Crew and spectators must follow event, parking, course, and venue rules and must not interfere with other runners.
PARKING & BASE CAMP: A designated parking and runner/crew setup area will be available. Runners may establish a personal base camp and may bring a tent or 10' x 10' pop-up canopy, chairs, coolers, tables, sleeping gear, food, clothing, extra shoes, lighting, batteries, and other reasonable race supplies. All setups must remain within designated areas and keep emergency and participant access clear.
WHAT THE EVENT PROVIDE: The event will provide water, ice, and portable restrooms. Runners should arrive prepared for a 30-hour endurance event and bring their own food, electrolytes, hydration containers, medications, clothing, footwear, lighting, batteries, weather protection, and other personal supplies they expect to need.
Additional Info
TRAIL TOES® FOOT-CARE SUPPORT: Trail Toes® will provide complimentary foot-care products and basic supplies for runners as needed, including Trail Toes® Foot & Body Creams and foot/blister tape. Runners are encouraged to address hot spots, friction, chafing, and other minor foot-care needs early. These supplies are a runner amenity and are not a substitute for medical evaluation or treatment.
RUNNER SWAG & DISTANCE AWARDS: Every registered runner receives a Monster Mash Bash participant patch, participant tumbler, and stickers. The patch
and tumbler recognize participation in the event regardless of the number of miles completed.
REFLECTIVE DISTANCE COMPLETION PLATES: Runners may also earn a reflective distance plate based on the greatest recognized distance milestone they successfully complete. Distance awards are never rounded up. The plate represents the highest milestone the runner has actually reached or exceeded. Official Miles Completed. Examples: 6 official miles completed = 5 Mile plate. 11 official miles completed = 10 Mile plate.<
NIGHT RUNNING: The race continues after dark. Runners must have an operational headlamp, flashlight, or other race-approved light source during nighttime rounds. Runners are responsible for adequate lighting, batteries, and backup lighting. Race officials may prevent a runner from starting if the runner does not have adequate lighting for the conditions.
TEXAS WEATHER: Participants should be prepared for changing Texas weather, including heat, humidity, cold nighttime temperatures, wind, rain, wet or muddy surfaces, and severe weather. The Race Director may delay, suspend, modify, shorten, or cancel any portion of the event when conditions are considered unsafe. Safety takes priority over mileage.
COURSE & SAFETY RULES: Runners must follow the marked course, travel to the designated 1/2-mile turnaround, and complete the return to the start/finish area. Course cutting or intentionally shortening the route ends that round and may end the runner's event. Runners must follow reasonable instructions from race officials, volunteers, medical personnel, and course marshals. Race officials or medical personnel may remove a runner when continued participation presents a significant safety or medical concern.
SPORTSMANSHIP & LEAVE NO TRACE: Respect fellow runners, crews, volunteers, organizers, the venue, and the course. Dangerous behavior, harassment, intentional interference, property damage, or abusive conduct may result in removal. No littering is permitted. Runners and crews are responsible for cleaning their support area before leaving.
RACE DIRECTOR AUTHORITY: The Race Director has final authority regarding official starts, valid mile completion, missed starts, course interpretation, safety decisions, weather delays, rule violations, participant removal, and official results. Rules may be modified when reasonably necessary for safety or circumstances beyond the organizers' control.
THE RULE IS SIMPLE: Start when you can. Once you start, don't miss a start. Miss a start - your race is over.
