How far can you go?
Join us on Saturday, October 2nd and find out just how far you can go. This event will test you both physically and mentally. We will be there to help you along the way! Bring yourself and your crew and get ready for an event like none you have ever completed before.
This event is limited to 100 runners. When 100 spots are full, a waitlist will be created.
Backyard Ultra Rules
This event will follow the set Backyard Ultra rules.
1) Course is 4.167 miles (each lap is called a yard)
2) Participants must be inside the corral the start of each hour
3) Warning will be given 3, 2, and 1 minutes before the start of each yard
4) All runners must start at the bell (no late starts)
5) Runners cannot leave the course until the yard is complete (except for restroom breaks)
6) Non-competitors may NOT accompany active runners on the course (including eliminated runners)
7) No personal aid during a yard
8) Each yard must be completed in less than an hour to be counted
9) No artificial aids (including trekking poles)
10) Results will be in terms of “yards”
11) The winner is the last person to complete a yard. All other runners technically DNF
12) If no participant can complete one more yard than anyone else, there is no winner
Packet Pickup
Bibs, race swag, and all final race information can be picked up on Friday, October 1st from 3-5pm (Location TBD). Packets will also be available at the Lodge from 5:45-6:30am on Saturday, October 2nd.
Between Yards
You and your crew are allowed to have a 10x10 tent setup near the start finish area for whatever you need. We ask that no one take up more than 10x10 for their campsite to allow everyone enough space near the start/finish. Vehicles can be used instead of camps as there is ample parking near the start/finish as well.
There is no camping overnight on Friday, October 1st. Park gates open at 4:30am on Saturday.
Results
All final results will be posted in terms of yards completed (1 lap of 4.167 miles = 1 yard). If the lap is not completed within the hour time limit, your results distance will show the end of the previous yard completed.
Awards
The winner will be the runner who completes 1 more yard than any other finisher. They will receive a once of a kind award as well as other prizes.
The runner who finishes second will be awarded with an "assist."
"Carrots" will be awarded for any competitor who complete 6 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, or 24 hours. Once a Carrot is completed any runner who quits or continues will receive that carrot. Only runners who continue will be eligible for the next carrot. Carrot incentives will be announced closer to the event date.
