Description:

Welcome to the 7th annual G.O.A.T.z Gravel Classic! Over the years, our little no-frills event continues to impress and challenge all those who are curious about running a gravel road race.

G.O.A.T.z Gravel Classic 30k/60k
Saturday, May 23, 2020
30k/60k race starts at 8:00 am
Hosted by Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch

The G.O.A.T.z Gravel Classic is designed to be a completely self-supported no-entry-fee race that will test its participants on the gravel back roads of Washington County.

Driven by the desire to create a G.O.A.T.z event that caters to those who believe running a race shouldn't cost an arm and a leg, the Gravel Classic will give runners a chance to experience a unique and challenging venue, while embracing the purity of running.

No swag bags, no chip timing, no medals, no frills! It’s just you and the country roads.

Registration:

This race has been and will always be free. With that said, you will still need to go through the formal registration process here on Ultrasignup.com so we are aware of how many will be running on race day.

If you need to drop down in distance or remove your registration altogether, please contact me prior to race day.

Again, this is a “no-entry-fee” race and you are under no obligation to donate. But we also know that G.O.A.T.z are extremely generous people and we believe many of you will want to give back in some way. That is why we are giving you an opportunity to donate to our GOATz Grants Program. More information here! https://goatz.org/goatz-xc-grantz/

Charitable Recipient

We are excited to announce some changes we are making to how we allocate the funds raised during our event. To align with our new mission, every dollar donated before and on the day of the event will go towards subsidizing our GOATz Grants program.

Every year, the G.O.A.T.z will be awarding two $2,500 scholarships to local area schools. One to a Junior High, and another to a Senior High. Your donation to the Gravel Classic will help us fund those two grants!

If you have any questions regarding our GOATz Grants program, or would like additional information, please contact the event director, TJ Ernst or you can check out this link (https://goatz.org/goatz-xc-grantz/). As always, we will have someone on-site the morning of the race to provide additional information on our grant program.

Course:

The course start and finish will be at Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch. (3935 Hwy 133, Blair, NE 68008)

http://www.skinnybonespumpkinpatch.com

Please check out the link below for an online map of the course. The course is a 30 kilometer loop on the gravel back roads of Washington County. For those interested in the 60k, you will run the loop twice. Runners will do a small dirt trail loop on Skinny Bone's property before heading out on their first loop.

The course will be minimally marked, only with arrows at all the turn points. We will have a couple volunteers monitoring the course to ensure everyone’s safety. Being minimally supported, it is your responsibility to study and understand the course prior to race day. We ask that you not have any additional support vehicles on the roads with the other runners. If you need extra support on the course, please have someone waiting for you at the designated water stops.

The start/finish area will have a drop bag area for our 60k runners. There will also be two, very minimal water stations (no cups, please bring your own water carrier) on the course and one water station at the start/finish area. Please be sure you have everything you need with you on race day. Again, if you have any questions regarding this event, please contact tj@goatz.org.
