About the event

The race will be run on a (mostly) NEW course this year. I get bored of the same thing all the time (maybe you do too), so I try and vary up what trails I use for the race every few years. In the spirit of choosing your own adventure, runners may choose the number of 12.5k laps they would like to complete. If you are new to trail running and just want to check out the Keene scenery, a single loop is a great option. If you want more of a challenge, try your hand at a few more. If you’re like me and the thought of calling it a day after a few laps is just unthinkable, run the full 4 laps for a 50k day out on the hill! No runner will be penalized for not completing the number of laps they sign up for and if you want to run more than you signed up for, well, good for you! We’ll record your finish accordingly!

The terrain of Drummer Hill can vary from technical single track to old jeep roads. And seeing that the term “hill” is in the race name, you can expect that there will be a fair amount of elevation change. I can’t express enough that this is a trail race on technical terrain. This is not paved. This is not renovated rail trail. This is not for whiners. This is the woods, where there are a lot of rocks, roots, fallen trees, stream crossings, scenic beauty, and if you’re lucky, some nice wildlife sightings.

Awards: We'll have the classic DHTR drumsticks again.

All race distances will start EXACTLY at 8am. Participants need to start their last lap by 3:15.

Also to be noted, there are no refunds or deferrals.

Parking will be at Fuller Elementary School, 422 Elm St, Keene, NH 03431 and the race start is just a short walk away on Drummer Rd. Please, no parking on Drummer Rd as we would like to keep all the neighbors on the street happy!

For those who would like, drop bags for all your gear may be brought to the start/finish area to access between laps. Port-a-potties will also be available at the start/finish area as well.

Aid will be available at the start/finish area, as well as at a midpoint in the race course. Offerings will include, water, Tailwind, soda, gels, cookies, bananas, chips, candy…. You know, just imagine the spread at a 3rd grade Halloween party! WE ARE A CUPLESS EVENT!! Please make sure to bring a hydration vest or hand held bottle with you. And as always, if you want to bring something to share, go for it!
