Just Survive 125
In 2023 Outside Online voted the Lake to Ocean trail as one of the top 10 most beautiful trails in the WORLD. If you are looking for a scenic and tough destination race in the state of Florida this is THE race to do....IF you are up for a challenge and can take care of yourself. Old school as it gets. 48 Hour cutoff. The ecosystems on this beautiful trail change approximately every mile, from ancient sand dunes with scrub oak and sand pine to pine flat woods, palmetto and oak hammocks, cypress swamp and wet prairies. Wildlife include deer, alligators, otters, owls, snakes, bobcats, coyotes and various Florida wading birds. Out and back from Hobe Sound Beach to Lake Okeechobee and back following the Lake to Ocean trail. http://loxfltrail.org/Ocean2LakeHikingTrail.html Mostly single track remote rugged trails. You must be able to take care of yourself. You will have four 5 gallon drop buckets 15.5 miles apart that you will pack your food, drink and essentials in. The race crew will bring your buckets to the spots and monitor runners. If you are flying in from another state we will provide the buckets for you. You need to plan, execute your plan, stay on the trail, and Just Survive. Race is limited to 25 runners. No crews, no pacers, no aid stations, no GPS watches to keep you on course. Just you vs the course. Do your homework before signing up. It may be 80+ degrees with perfect trail conditions or 40 and very wet conditions while bushwacking from blaze to blaze or any variations in between. Anyone completing the course within the rules and under 48 hours will receive a very nice buckle and a long sleeve tech finishers shirt.
