Updates

Update June 14, 2023 - Online registration is closed. However, there will be day of race registration available. Course is marked and ready to go. Weather looks to be perfect. Sunny skies, high's in the 70's at the start/finish and in the 50's up on the mountain. Perfect weather for a run. See you all on Saturday.

Update June 1, 2023 - The Tony Grove Lake Snotel is down to 52" of snow depth. After getting a couple of messages from a local runner who is very familiar with the course, I am leaning towards an out and back this year. The route would be the regular route all the way to the aid station #2 location, then turn around and come back. Total mileage would be about 23 with about 6000' of gain. So still pretty stout. I will know more after I recon the course this Sunday. The north Syncline trail is still under several feet of snow from what I am told. I will email all runners with the plans.

Update May 17, 2023 - The Tony Grove Lake Snotel is down to 88" of snow depth. Still a huge amount for this time of year. I have not been able to get on the course to check things out yet, however, I will be doing this the first couple of weeks in June. Meanwhile, if anyone in the Logan area has been up Dry Canyon and can send me a report, I would much appreciate it.
Still plenty of room in the race for those putting off entering.

Update April 4, 2023 - The Tony Grove Lake Snotel is now reporting 167" of snow depth. My update below still stands, don't plan on the aid station on the backside of Mt. Logan. I will also be looking at alternate courses in case one is needed.

Update March 10, 2023 - I would plan on not having an aid station at the road up to Logan Peak. I would plan on running on several miles of snowpack, making for a slower run. I would also plan on not running up that peak. The Tony Grove Snotel is now reporting 136" of snow. It'll be an interesting race this year.

Update Feb. 6, 2023 - Just a heads up to those contemplating running Logan Peak. The Tony Grove Lake Snotel station is currently showing 101" of snow depth. If we have a cool spring, there is a chance that the Logan Peak aid station may not be available and the trek to the peak may not happen. This has happened in the past a couple of times where there were several miles of snow to cross and the forest service road was inaccessible to the volunteers. The race will go on regardless.

New for 2022

Here's the new stuff for 2022.
I'm no longer offering the 22 mile as an official option. I'll still have a finisher time for you at the 22 mile distance and you'll still get a nifty finisher mug.
It's still one of the cheaper races for a marathon or greater distance.
There may be race day entry. Depends on how many sign up ahead of time. Race day entry, if offered, is pricier and there's no guarantee of a shirt.
I think that's about it. See you in June.

Description

The Logan Peak Trail Run traverses the mountainous area around Logan Peak through Logan Dry Canyon and Providence Canyon (the main drainage's just south of Logan Canyon). During this challenging event, runners travel a bit over 26 miles on a predominantly loop course with over 6600 ft elevation gain. Amazing views, lots of climbing, and varied terrain/habitat are just a few reasons to run this course. The elevation gain/loss makes this event roughly comparable to many 50 K races. The race is a spectacular opportunity to experience the outstanding trails around Cache Valley, and Logan is a great place to hang out and have fun.

Runners also have an option to complete only the Syncline Loop (avoiding the 1070 foot climb to and descent from Logan Peak).

Discount codes

I don’t do them….period…..don’t ask….I think they’re stupid…..everyone pays the same price unless you register late, then you’ll pay a procrastination tax.

Refunds

Refunds are available only if the race fills and there is someone to take your place. Otherwise, sorry. Also, rollovers aren't done either. Check the Buffalo Run Adventures website for full refund and rollover details.

Transfers

I am allowing transfers. They are to be done through ultrasignup. I am not charging anything for this, but ultrasignup might have a service fee. Transfers outside this official method are not allowed. It really screws up timing and potential emergency response. Don't just give your bib to your friend. Please, just don't do it.

Wait list info

If the race fills and you are on the waitlist, you need to check your email often. If you receive an invite to register, in other words, you are off the waitlist, you have 48 hours to respond, otherwise you'll be removed and I'll move on to the next person on the list.
