General Info

Hell Mary is a test of speed discipline and heat management on a flat, unforgiving course.
You can run fast. The heat decides if you can last.

With no hills and no technical terrain to hide behind, Hell Mary strips endurance racing down to its essentials: pacing restraint, hydration strategy, and respect for sustained heat exposure. The course rewards efficiency early and punishes impatience later. Those who finish strong aren’t always the fastest—they’re the ones who understand how to manage speed when conditions turn against them.

🌙 12-Hour Night Run
We’ve added a 12-Hour Night division for athletes who want to train specifically for night racing.
Ideal for runners preparing for 100 milers and multi-day events. Same flat loop, same heat-soaked suffering—just replaced with darkness and solitude

🎒 Two Separate HardRuck Divisions
In 2026, HardRuck athletes will compete in two clearly defined categories:
Rucking Division
Weighted Vest Division
These are intentionally separate categories due to the fundamentally different ways they load the body.

HardRuck

Rucking involves carrying weight in a backpack or rucksack, with the load positioned behind the body’s center of mass. The weighted vest category allows you to just carry the weight on your body in any position. That is why there is two categories.
Weight Standards (Dry Weight):
Over 150 lbs bodyweight: 20 lbs
Under 150 lbs bodyweight: 10 lbs

Food

Food:
In the spirit of community, we encourage participants to bring a dish to share. Our events often feature an impressive spread, with awards for the best entrée, dessert, and snack—winners receive free entry to a future race. While bringing a dish is optional, it enhances the experience for all.

Additionally, we will provide smoked BBQ, a vegetarian meal, water, and Scratch at the water stations. The BBQ will be smoked on-site for that fresh, authentic flavor.

Timing

We just bought a new chip timing system so all participants must wear a bib on their shorts or shirt. All participants will need to have the bib in the front so our back up system can see your bib number.
