Get ready for the 2nd Annual Greensprings 24!
The Greensprings 24 will be Saturday, October 26 starting at 8am and finishing 8am the following morning. This 24 hour endurance race can be whatever you want it to be. How many miles can you complete? Can you reach a benchmark goal like 50 miles? A marathon? Run, walk, crawl...your choice. Will you reach the pain cave and give up or push through? Awesome volunteers will be helping you make the right choice!
Those completing 50k, 50 miles, 100k, 75 miles and 100 miles will get special awards. Awards will also be given to the top 3 overall male and female, top 3 masters (40+) and top 3 grandmasters (50+).
This race is a loop course. Each loop is USATF certified 2.215 miles, so 14 loops = 50k, 12 loops will = a marathon or do 6 loops for a half marathon. You can do the math from there. Only full loops will count. The course will be marked with reflective confidence streamers. The surface is crushed gravel, the trail is mainly flat, scenic, non technical. The elevation gain and loss is very minimal, the course is flat. There will be porta potties at the loop check in and lots of food options. We will be grilling all night! It will be like a party but...different...more tears and pain than a normal party.
You will have plenty of room to set up your tent, supplies, etc close by and you will pass it as you enter and exit the loop check in. The loop check in is about 50 yards from the parking lot. There is plenty of parking (it is a school), so no need to worry about having to park far away!
Packet pick up will be race morning starting at 6:30am OR on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4-7pm at the start/finish area. Participants can start and pick up their packets at any time during the 24 hours. Pacers can be used after 3pm. There is a half marathon Saturday morning using the same trail (opposite direction), so there will be considerable traffic on the trail Sat. AM. A race packet with detailed participant instructions will be emailed out the second week of October.
