The Waldo 100K Ultramarathon is a challenging 100K loop-type course starting at Willamette Pass Ski Area (70 miles east of Eugene, Oregon) at elevation 5120', climbing up several mountains including Fuji, The Twins, and Maiden Peak before returning to the ski area. The route is mostly single-track trails with some fairly remote sections and has many incredible views of pristine Waldo Lake. It is not a beginner-level ultra and we recommend coming into the race with experience.
The lottery took place on March 1st and is sold out. The race starts and finishes at the Willamette Pass Ski Area. There will be a pre-race briefing on Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the pass with a spaghetti dinner served at 6:00 pm. The suggested donation is $10 and all proceeds benefit the ski patrol.
Runners should plan to pick up their bibs and shirts on Friday afternoon or evening and all drop bags will be due Friday at 9:00 pm.
The race will start at 5:00 am on Saturday morning, but runners have the option to start at 3:00 am (please email the RD if you would like to switch start times).
All runners are allowed a pacer starting at the Charlton Lake aid station. Pacer bibs will be available to pick up at the check-in table on Friday or Saturday morning.
For more details and all the race information, please visit our website at waldo100k.org!
There is free camping for Friday and Saturday nights at the Willamette Pass Ski Area (location of the start/finish). There is a large parking lot and you may set up your tent anywhere on the lawn adjacent to the parking area. We just ask that you do not camp on the side where the buildings and the post race area are set up. It will be very clear where you can camp, but if you arrive and have questions, someone will be there to answer your questions.
Post Race Festivities
Please stay and hang out with us after you finish the race! There will be a burrito bar available for free for all runners and their family/friends, along with cold drinks and free beer from Oakshire Brewery. If you are bringing family or friends for the weekend, they are welcome to hang out on the lawn while they wait for you to finish. It's usually sunny and beautiful and there are plenty of trails nearby to explore. We will play music as runners are finishing and our awesome team at Altra will be there handing out raffle prizes!
