Description
The Telluride Mountain Run is a challenging and technical race in the San Juan Mountains above the beautiful historic mining town of Telluride, Colorado. With three challenging and technical routes, runners navigate old mining roads, singletrack and alpine tundra over mountain passes, exposed ridgelines, and high summits. TMR is extremely difficult with big elevation gain at altitudes above 13,000 ft. The focus of the race is the experience: the burn of high elevation, the striking colors of the San Juans, and the reward of finishing right where you started.
You should know... there are sections of this course that are extremely technical, steep and loose. This is a TECHNICAL MOUNTAIN RACE, NOT A TRAIL RUN- participants will be running to altitudes of over 13,000ft on exposed ridgelines and steep, rocky summits. The trails are extremely rocky and at times there are no trails at all. There are many sections of this course that will be exposed to falls, potential rockfall and hazardous weather. There will be safety personnel along sections of the route monitoring these hazards but all participants should be responsible for their own safety. THIS IS NOT AN EVENT FOR BEGINNERS.
