7 mile course
Wolf River Trails
The King 7 miler and 1/2 Marathon will be held on the Wolf River Trails, the same trails used for the Mamba 100 race. The trails are mostly single track, flat and very runnable. This race is for the very beginner runner to the most experienced. There will be generous cut off times and you'll be guaranteed a good time. This is the perfect race tune-up to head into the fall races.
The race is a preview course of the Mamba 100. The route and trails will be the exact same loop the Mamba 100. The Mamba 100 is a 14.3 mile loop so we are taking away 1.20 miles for the Half Marathon loop.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup is Friday, August 2nd from 4-6:30pm at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead. This is where the start/finish line will be. You can also pick up your bib on race morning, but try to get it by 6:30am so we can start the race on time.
The course will be marked by Noon on Friday, August 2nd. You are welcome to run the course any time after that. The trails close at dark on Friday evening.
Parking
Parking is very limited at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead. We have rented an additional parking area at the Agricenter. There will be signs showing where to park. The additional parking area is on Smyth Farm Road just south of the RV Park. The parking area will be a grass field. This parking area is about a mile from the start/finish line so if you want extra miles besides the race, then this will be a good area to park at.
Aid Stations
The North Mississippi Endurance crew will be manning a fully stocked Aid Station at Mile 3.7 for all runners. This is where the 7 milers will turn around and head back to the Finish line on the Yellow trail. The Half Marathoners will continue past this Aid Station for about 6 miles, then will hit this same Aid Station again around Mile 9.5.
Please bring a water bottle or wear a hydration vest if you are running the Half Marathon.
