I'm pleased to present the 3rd annual Summit 50/50 at Allegany State Park in Salamanca, NY!
This hidden gem of a state park will leave you amazed, in awe, and wanting to come back for more adventure and exploration! In 2023, we'll be offering 3 distances, 50 miles, 50k, and 25k, on a course made up of both groomed trail, single track, and rolling hills.
The course (and park) provides an opportunity for the front of the pack runners to turn in a fast time while still providing enough elevation to make you know that you've done some work. For runners who prefer the back of the pack, the runnable nature of the course means there's a high likelihood you'll finish the race but you'll certainly have to work for it!
If you're not breathless from the running and "rolling" hills, you will be as you peer through the trees and vistas at the surrounding valleys.
As you make your way around the course, you'll be supported by an amazing group of trail and ultra runners, volunteers, friends, family, and 2 well-stocked aid stations.
The course is a looped course, covering a distance of about 17 miles, so yes, you'll be slightly over your distance, which equals extra fun and adventure in the woods! But don't worry, the course will be marked with signs, arrows, and dragons to keep you on track!
