CHANGES FOR 2025
We're working on several changes for our Beast of Big Creek weekend. Mainly we want to make the event bigger so more folks can experience the brutal beauty of climbing Mount Ellinor. The race routes will be minimally impacted, if at all. But due to the changes we're working with the National Forest on a new permit, which will take until late March to be approved. Because of this we won't be able to open registration for the Forest Loop race until that time. Registration for the Skyrace is now open, but only for the original 150 runners. So act fast!
Also new for 2025: The Beast of Big Creek Skyrace will be a qualifying race in the Vert Running Series by Mountain Running Races.

A SKYRACE
We're offering two distances, a 14 and a 5 miler.
For the Skyrace you'll get to climb for over 5,200ft to the actual summit of Mt. Ellinor. And then, you'll get to bomb the whole way back down.
For the Forest loop you'll climb 1,200 ft. and get to run through lush forest along streams and over several fun wooden bridges.
Start and finish is at Big Creek Campground and we'll be offering limited camping for the weekend.
The 14 milers is the only certified Skyrace course in the United States and an a UTMB Index race. To learn more visit the Sky Running Federation.
