2025 Mt Sopris Run-Off - Sunday, May 18th
The Mt Sopris Run-Off takes place in Carbondale, CO and offers two distances - 10-Miles and 25k
Historically this race has been a part of the Town of Carbondale's Mountain Fair Weekend in late July. In 2025, the race will once again take place on Sunday, May 18th at 8:00am as a part of a growing Trail Festival Weekend, with trail running film festival, in the Roaring Fork Valley. The race will feature two distances - 10-miles and 25k - both utilizing the iconic "Up & Over" single track trail in a point-to-point race taking runners from the start at Flying Dog Ranch on Prince Creek Road up and over and ending at Rock Bottom Ranch in Basalt, CO. There will be a shuttle provided for runners from the City Market plaza in Carbondale, CO to the start line. There will be no parking at the start line of the race. Additionally, there will be a shuttle bus running from the finish line back to your car. Many locals will also choose to drop bikes at the finish line to ride back to town as they desire on the Rio Grande Trail.
We will once again be hosting the Trail Running Film festival with new films for 2025 in conjunction with the race weekend. The Trail Running Film Festival will take place on the Friday, May 16 of race weekend. (https://trailfilmfest.com) The film showing will take place at Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale (located next to City Market). Doors will open at 6pm with film showing beginning at 7pm. There will be light refreshments and a catered dinner. Film festival tickets can be purchased ahead of time with your race registration for an additional $10. All other attendees without a race registration will be $15. This will be a picnic style film showing, so bring the family, bring some chairs, blankets and enjoy a nice night of Trail running films. Come and stay in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley for a weekend and enjoy everything that we have to offer.
POST RACE PARTY
There will be grass-fed locally sourced hamburgers and a vegetarian option for additional purchase in the race registration for you to enjoy on the lawn at Rock Bottom Ranch. These delicious burgers were a huge hit last year!! This meat is raised by Rock Bottom Ranch and is grass-fed locally sourced. Athletic Brewing Company will generously be providing non alcoholic beer refreshments for finishers and volunteers. Pack your blankets and post race clothes as these will be transported from the start line to the finish. We are NOT responsible for any valuables in the transportation of your drop bags.
NO DOGS WILL BE ALLOWED AT ROCK BOTTOM RANCH!
Cut Off
There will be a cutoff for the 25k race. A runner must make it through the 10 miler cut off down Buckhorn in 2 hours and 30 minutes or the runner will be sent to finish the 10 miler course rather than the 25k course.
