FONDREN URBAN ULTRA
The Fondren Urban Ultra is a 12 hour timed road race for individual runners. The 3.1 mile loop is run in the beautiful neighborhood of Fondren in Jackson with a mix of hills and flat sections. The race is chip timed for accuracy. Each loop begins and ends at Fondren Church where you can place your nutrition, tent, coolers, etc. Run one lap or as many as you can, test your limits, run your first ultra distance or a few miles....this race is for you! The race is limited to 165 individual runners so sign up now!
USA Track and Field CERTIFIED COURSE
The 5k loop is a USATF certified course (MS17010MS) that will be used to record Mississippi state records in the 50k, 12 hour, and 100k. Only MS residents will be recorded for the records. Currently this is the only state certified Ultra course. As a MS resident, run this race and you may be an ultra state record holder for your age! Go to staterunningrecords.com for a current listing.
DETAILS
TIME: 7am--7pm
LOCATION: 3327 Old Canton Rd. Jackson, MS
PACKET PICKUP: Friday, April 25th from 4-6 at Buffalo Peak and race morning at the start/finish from 6–6:45.
AID STATION: The start/finish area will have water, Tailwind, and sweet and salty food.
RULES: All runners must start at 7 a.m. Runners can take breaks but must remain in the parking area of the church. A full 5k lap has to be completed in the 12 hour time limit to be counted.
AWARDS: 1st place-3rd place male and female will receive custom awards. All participants receive a medal with those going the ultra distance (9 laps) getting something special.
PRICE: $50 with a price increase to $60 on January 1st. Sorry, no refunds, transfers, or deferments.
COURSE: Approximately 150’ elevation gain/loss per 5k loop.
PARKING AND MORNING SET UP: There is ample parking behind the church. Do not park in the Duling parking lot or in front of the church (this is the start/finish). You may set up pop up tents in the front parking area (on pavement only please) of the church on race morning.
MUTS
