Course

The course is a lollipop loop. ~1/3mi flattish and smooth to the base of the incline. The incline stairs are spaced horizontally about 1.5 strides apart, making it difficult to run. At the top, ~0.5 in, go left and head out to the rest of the course. It's another ~1.4mi, of flat and rolling terrain, to the start of the loop. The loop is 2.4mi of rolling terrain; parts of it is pretty smooth, other parts are a bit rocky. Then, return back to the top of the incline. The final 0.5mi is down a steep, but smooth dirt path, not the incline. The distance is very close to 10km, with about 600' of climbing.

Handicap Starts

We'll use a handicap starting system, by age and gender, similar to The Dipsea (www.dipsea.org), the oldest trail race in the U.S. Starts will be spread out over ~20 minutes, starting at 9:00.

Kids Race

The kids will go up the incline, then down the smooth but steep path. It's about 1mi. The kids race will start at 8:45. Parents are welcome to accompany. All kids will get a finishing ribbon.

Awards

Awards for the 10k will go to the top-10 finishers across the line with the handicap starts. There will also be awards to the fastest female/male net times, and the oldest/youngest finisher.
