Race Details

Frozen Assets Endurance Run is a winter race on the trails of Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area on January 4, 2025. This new event is founded on the storied traditions of Frozen Assets Snowshoe Race and S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race. The distance will be around 10k - but subject to change due to trail and weather conditions.

Common Ground

The goal of the series is bringing together the trail running community to get out on the trails over the winter and enjoy each other's company. Those who register for all of the races in the series will receive some special swag. The series includes the following events:

The last quarter mile into the park is not paved and can be tricky depending on conditions.

Course

The course is an approximately 10k loop starting and finishing in the parking lot of Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area. The course is mostly winding single track trail blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race.

There is a good probability that there will be snow on the course. This means four important things:
  1. Bring good footwear options. Conditions at Hollister are likely going to be colder and snowier than even just a few miles away. Having traction available could be wise.
  2. Snowshoes are not an option. Despite the hallowed snowshoe history of the race, we are not insured or permitted for snowshoes.
  3. Be courteous to Nordic skiers. Most of the course stays away from ski trails, but make sure you stay off of any part of a trail that is groomed for skiing. If you see a skier, be especially friendly.
  4. Watch out for snowmobiles. There will be two crossings over the C4 snowmobile trail. Snowmobiles have the right of way at the crossings, or honestly any time a runner and snowmobile attempt to share the same space.

Food & Drink

There are no aid stations on course. Bring any water and fuel you think you will need for the race. There will be a modest selection of food and drink at the start/finish area, including:

  • Warm apple cider Skratch Hydration
  • Cold lemon-lime Skratch Hydration
  • Water!
  • Snacks and Gu gels
Post-race gathering will begin around noon at Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye, about a 10-minute drive (or 1.5 hour run) from Harriet Hollister. All athletes as well as friends and family are welcome to join us whenever you're able. Highlights of the gathering are sure to include:

  • We're giving away stuff! There will be awards plus a random raffle for people in attendance. We have gift cards, race entries, and some merch.
  • We've reserved the upstairs lounge. Perfect for all of your post-race lounging needs!
  • We're buying the first round! This includes Birdhouse craft beer, hot mulled apple cider (with or without whiskey), Blue Barn hard cider, or soda.
  • Birdhouse's award-winning food menu will be available for ordering, so bring your appetite and your wallets.
  • Wearing nice, comfortable, clean footwear that doesn't track snow and mud all over Birdhouse's beautiful floors!

Withdrawals and Deferrals

We will provide withdrawal refunds at any time before Friday, December 26th at 11:59PM ET. Refunds will only be for the race entrance fee and will not include the UltraSignup administration fee.
