Training Camp

Please join us for the first Bay Area 100 Training Camp weekend! There are 3 runs that take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Together they cover about 70 miles of the course, including the remote parts of Las Trampas. The total distance you run is up to you. The plans here describe the 'full route' that we will support. If you choose to go shorter or longer, that's totally fine. All runners are welcome to join Training Camp, not just registered Bay Area 100 runners.

The schedule:

Friday 5:30pm - Meetup at Skyline Gate in Oakland (FREE). This meetup is meant as a kickoff for the weekend and will be a fun run -- either 9 or 6 miles -- in Redwood Regional Park. You can sign up for this once you register for one of the other runs.

Saturday 8am - Start at near Cal Memorial Stadium at the top of Dwight Way and run the Bay View section of the course (30 miles plus). Finish at UC Berkeley.

Saturday afternoon - Meetup at Sports Basement Berkeley for talk about the race, race weekend, race planning and training. Drinks (free), snacks (free) and dinner (small fee) will be served. You can signup and reserve dinner when you register for the other runs.

Sunday 8am - Start at Chabot Space and Science Center and finish at Lake Chabot Regional Park. (Transportation provided at 7am for a small fee from Lake Chabot to the start at Chabot Space and Science Center - available at checkout)

All are welcome to register for these runs. Each day is limited to 30 people. If each day fills up, we will add additional options.

Camp Routes, Aid

Here are the routes for the three days of Camp.

Friday
This is an easy loop around Redwood Regional Park that covers the section of the course you're likely to see during the night.

Saturday

We will start at the top of Dwight Way (because the parking is better) and run the Bay View section of the course. Here's a pace chart for the whole run. The timing points are where we expect to have aid for you. "Aid" will be a volunteer with goodies in their car.

Sunday

We will start at Science Center and run the Las Trampas, Lake, and Redwood sections of the course. If you want 30 miles, finish at Lake Chabot (and either take the shuttle or Uber to Chabot Space and Science Center) If you want 40+ start and finish at Space Center. Here's the pace chart and splits. Again, all the timing points are where there will be aid.

Coaching Collab Livestream

The Coaching Collab is our network of certified coaches lead by Garett Graubins, Michael Li, Mallory Servais. Starting on January 15, we will be offering Livestream sessions that are 30 minutes long. The Coaching Collab Livestream is free.
