Real People Helping People 5K, 10K & 2.5 Mile Trail Races
Join us for the Real People Helping People Race — a family-friendly trail running event that combines scenic courses with meaningful community impact. This event kicks off early from the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan, Pennsylvania, and brings together runners of all abilities to support youth programming and local athletes. Proceeds benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which feeds children lunch, keeps them active, and fosters community and relationships during the summer months. A portion of proceeds also supports the Central Mountain Cross Country team.
Runners who register by Sept 21st are guaranteed a T-shirt, and race-day registration opens at 7:30AM. Racers, we've got you covered!!! Food will be provided after the race. Family, friends, and spectators are welcome to join us for a meal with a donation to help support the event.
10K Trail (Challenging • ~1300' Elevation Gain)
Real People Helping People 10K Trail Race
This scenic but demanding 10K loop starts at the Durty Dabbers Pavilion and takes you on an adventure through some of the beautiful trails Zindel Park has to offer. Along the course, runners will experience the beauty of the reservoir, scenic vistas, and the rugged terrain that makes this course both challenging and rewarding.
The route will eventually return to the Durty Dabbers land for a final ascent before bringing runners back to the start/finish line.
This is a general course description, as the more defined race route is still being established.

5K Trail (Moderate • Flowing Natural Terrain)
Real People Helping People 5K Trail Race/Walk
Starting at the Durty Dabbers Pavilion, this scenic 5K follows the Creekside Trail through the woods and into the large loop at McElhattan Nature Park. Runners will retrace the Creekside Trail, then enjoy a fun loop around the pavilion on the Durty Dabbers trails before crossing the creek and heading to the start/finish line.
A beautiful trail experience with a little adventure along the way!
2.5 Mile Natural Trail (Untimed Fun Run)
Real People Helping People 2.5-Mile Nature Trail
Perfect for beginners and families, this untimed trail offers a relaxed adventure through the beauty of the area. Starting at the Durty Dabbers Pavilion, the route follows the Creekside Trail into the large loop at McElhatten Nature Park before returning to the pavilion along peaceful, shaded forest paths.
Come enjoy the trails, take in the scenery, and make memories together!
Directions & Parking
From Route?220, take the McElhattan Exit and head south onto Reservoir Road. Continue past Truck-Lite and Linnipi Village for approximately ½ mile, then turn right at the Durty Dabbers sign just before Zindel Park. Parking is available onsite at the Durty Dabber Pavilion.
