Race Options
24‑Hour Solo
Run one 6.7 km loop every hour on the hour.
You must be in the start corral at the top of each hour to continue.
If more than one runner remains at the 24‑hour mark, you’ll run one final lap — fastest runner wins.
24‑Hour Relay (2 person)
Grab a partner and alternate loops.
Stay in as long as you can — perfect for experiencing the 24‑hour format without committing to full solo mileage.
24‑Hour Team (2 person)
Both teammates run solo loops, accumulating as many laps (called a "yard") as possible.
Your combined total loops determine your score.
If teams tie, the winner is decided by fastest combined lap times.
12-hour
Same rules and format as the 24-hour - a great way to experience this format and challenge yourself to pushing for a 50-miler.
6-hour
Same rules and format - a great way to introduce yourself to the backyard ultra.
Description
Spend 24 hours running loops through Albion Hills Conservation Area with fall colours as your backdrop.
Two 6.7 km loops are used in a washing‑machine pattern:
Round 1 (using the first loop) clockwise
Round 2 (using the first loop) counter‑clockwise
Round 3 (using the 2nd loop) Clockwise
Round 4 (using the 2nd loop) counter‑clockwise
…and repeat.
Every loop starts at the top of the hour.
Solo runners and relay partners must be back across the finish line and inside the corral before the next hour begins.
Your team’s score = total yards completed by both runners.
Example: one runner completes 5 yards, the other completes 15 → team total = 20.
Ties are broken by fastest cumulative lap times.
The Course
Two distinct 6.7 km loops, alternating directions each round.
Expect roughly 150 m of elevation per loop and a mix of:
single‑track
double‑track
roots
pine‑needle paths
hard‑packed dirt
