Mountain Peacock 50k: Conquer Four Peaks in One Epic Day!

Ready for a no-frills ultra adventure in the heart of Golden, Colorado?

Join us for the 3rd Annual Mountain Peacock 50k, where we're bringing the true spirit of ultra running back to its roots. No fancy aid stations, no expensive entry fees – just you, the trails, and a community of like-minded adventurers!

The Challenge: Four Peaks, One Day!

Embrace your inner mountain goat as you tackle:

  1. South Table Mountain
  2. North Table Mountain
  3. Mount Galbraith
  4. Lookout Mountain

Each loop starts and ends at Parfet Park, our central hub and sole aid station. Total distance? A thigh-burning, soul-stirring 50k (ish)!

Barkley-Inspired Checkpoints: Channel Your Inner Lazarus Lake!

  • No course markings here, folks!
  • Find a book at each summit
  • Tear out a page as proof of your conquest
  • It's old school, it's fun, and it keeps us honest!

What to Bring

  • A gallon of your favorite hydration juice (aka water)
  • A delicious snack to share at the aid station (bonus points for homemade goodies!)
  • Your tried-and-true trail running gear
  • Navigation tools (map, compass, or GPS – you'll need 'em!)
  • An adventurous spirit and a good sense of humor (mandatory!)

How to Join the Fun

This is a no-fee event in true "fat ass" style.
But we do ask for a few things:

  • Register so we know how much pizza to order!
  • Bring your required items (water and shared snack)
  • Consider a donation to a charity of your choice in lieu of a race entry!

    The Mountain Peacock Vibe

Forget the expensive entry fees and the pressure of chip timing. We're here to:

    • Challenge ourselves in the beautiful Colorado mountains
    • Build community and share trail tales at our DIY aid station

Whether you complete all four peaks or just tackle one or two, you're part of the Mountain Peacock family. Hang out, cheer on your fellow runners, and join in the celebration that may well continue into the evening!

    A few final details

    • This is a self-supported event. Be prepared for minimal course markings and aid.

    • Familiarize yourself with the course beforehand. View on Strava
    • No official cut-off time, but the park closes at 9:00pm.

    • We'll order some pizzas to share, but bringing extra food is encouraged.

    • Leave No Trace principles apply - pack out what you pack in.

    • Safety first - know your limits and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
