Walden, CO 135 Miler

This Event Took Place Fri. May 17, 2013

Description

Are you ready for a challenge of a life time? If so, 135 miles of tough Colorado terrain await you. Runners will go over two paved mountain passes at an average altitude of almost 9,000 feet. You will travel the road from Walden Colorado along the Continental Divide- you will see wildlife, trees, rivers and mountain ranges. You will experience weather ranging from 90 degrees to snow. The divide will be in full view as you climb up "Muddy Pass" and see the sign the indicates the Pacific and Atlantic watershed point. You will go through the proclaimed "sportsmans paradise" town of Kremmling and into beautiful Silverthorne- you will run miles around the amazing Dillon Lake into historic downtown Frisco- from there you will run at the base of some of Colorado's highest peaks into the ski village of Copper Mountain. From the base of the ski resort you will experience the signature of The Divide 135; The last several miles of the race are a steep unforgiving uphill to the summit of the 11,300 feet Fremont Pass where you will find the Climax Mine and a finish line you will never forget.

The only thing that stands between you and the ultimate glory of finishing The Divide 135 is fear and common sense.
