2020 Race Cancelled
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and our concerns for the safety of all the participants and the local communities, we are cancelling the 2020 races. An email was sent to all racers and waitlisters on June 16th with details and options.
Running on a Live Volcano!
This rugged, remote and challenging 50K+ course is run entirely on single-track trails, circumnavigating Mt St Helens. All but 4.5 miles are run on the Loowit Trail. Racers travel over lava and pumice fields, cross rivers, run through the blast zone as well as through dense forest. In all, the course involves ~7400 ft of elevation gain and loss. You can expect a finish time more like that of a 50-miler than a 50K.
The 25K is a great way to race on the volcano and experience all that it has to offer, without having to run all the way around it. The course includes the Loowit trail, some boulder fields, a fun cushy downhill, a debris flow, and woodsy trails. The race involves 3,200 feet of gain and loss.
For the 50K: Due to the remote, mountain environment and challenging aspect of this course, it is required to have completed at least one 50K prior to race day.
The 25K does not have any pre-requisites.
50K Mandatory Race Gear
Ability to carry at least 40 oz of water
Light-weight, water-resistant jacket
If you need to cancel your registration and it’s more than 30 days prior to the race, you will receive a 50% credit toward a future Go Beyond Racing race. This credit is equal to half the value of the race you registered for and can be applied to any of our races that aren’t already sold out. You can use this credit within 365 days of it being issued. There is no transferring of this credit. If your cancellation is 30 days or less from race day, there is no credit, no refund, or no transfer. You can read our entire cancellation policy here:
