2021 Registration & Lottery
After much deliberation and with fingers crossed, we are moving forward with plans for the 2021 Waldo 100K, scheduled for August 21st, 2021. We will keep monitoring the status of Covid-19 in our country, but right now we are hopeful that the vaccine distribution proves to be successful in bringing our world back to a sense of normalcy.
We have about 150 runners who chose to rollover from last year, so there will be a limited number of lottery spots available. If you would like to enter the lottery, please sign up between February 15th and February 24th, 2021. We will draw names on March 1st.
All runners who chose the rollover option will be sent an email with instructions for completing your registration.
If you need to withdraw from the race, you have until July 1st, 2021 to cancel your registration and you will receive a $125 refund.
There will certainly be covid protocols in place for our event, though it is too early to definitively provide those for you. We will continue to meet and will be implementing these protocols and procedures based on the most recent information that is put out by our federal, state, and local government agencies, including, but not limited to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Oregon, the guidance of our medical team, requirements put in place by our permitting agencies, and other peer-reviewed, science-based information.
By signing up for this race, you agree to adhere to the covid protocols that are put in place by the race staff. We will keep participants updated as early as possible with these requirements, along with any pertinent information needed for race weekend and what, if any, changes we will have to make to the race itself (post race food, pre-race briefing, crews, etc).
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this weird year. We wish we had all of the answers for you right now, but we simply do not have enough information at this time to know what to expect by August.
The Waldo 100K Ultramarathon is a challenging 100K loop-type course starting at Willamette Pass Ski Area (70 miles east of Eugene, Oregon) at elevation 5120', climbing up several mountains including Fuji, The Twins, and Maiden Peak before returning to the ski area. The route is mostly single-track trails with some fairly remote sections and has many incredible views of pristine Waldo Lake. It is not a beginner-level ultra and we recommend coming into the race with experience.
There is free camping for Friday and Saturday nights at the Willamette Pass Ski Resort (location of the start/finish).
Post Race Festivities
It is unclear whether we will be able to host a post-race party this year. We will keep you all updated this spring and early summer as new information and guidelines are available.
