Post Race Banquet

HURT has a post-race banquet each year at Mid Pacific Country Club. The banquet for the 2020 HURT 100 will be held on 1/20/20 from 5 pm – 9 pm and limited to 190 participants. The entry fee to the HURT 100 does not include any banquet tickets for entered runners, this is simply an add on event at the HURT. Saturday, January 18, 2020 (06:00) - Sunday, January 19, 2020 (18:00). Minor hills above the city of Honolulu (island of O‘ahu, state of Hawai‘i).

Event Overview:

100 miles over 5 laps (partial out and backs) in a semi-tropical rain forest.

24,500 feet of cumulative elevation gain (and 24,500 feet of cumulative loss) over the course of 100

99% single-track trails, 1% asphalt.

Moderately packed soil, generously interspersed with roots, rocks, puddles, and mud wallows. Narrow trails through forest, along exposed ridges, and past vertical embankments.

20 stream crossings (four per lap).

Three aid stations per lap.

36-hour time limit.

The HURT 100 is a pre-registration event with a lottery. There are no charges incurred to the runner to enter the lottery.
Annually the HURT 100 receives in excess of 500 plus applicants for the 125 slots. Selection of the 125 entrants is via a weighted lottery based upon the questions posed on Ultrasignup.

Beginning with the 2020 run, 8 hours of trail work is required. If your name is on the list at, you are good to go. If your name is not on the list, you need to get after it.

Legacy 20 of the HURT 100


Register for the Legacy 20 by clicking the "REGISTER" button above, and selecting Legacy 20. Your credit card will not be charged until you are accepted into the run.

Entry to the event will be based upon an essay that you must write explaining why you should be selected for the Legacy 20. Please submit your essay, limited to 300 to 400 words, to Registration is open and essays may be submitted now, No registration or essays will be accepted after July 1, at 11:59 pm, HST. Legacy 20 runners will be announced at the HURT 100 lottery on August 11th.

The purpose of the Legacy 20 is to celebrate the 20th year of the HURT 100. This event is being held to honor those people who helped make the HURT 100 what it is today. Entrants might be previous finishers, long time participants, early contributors, volunteers par excellence, or people who have become synonymous with the HURT spirit of Ohana.

HURT understands all the contributions and sacrifices you have made, and we would like to recognize you for all you have given to the HURT 100. While the slots are few, please send a compelling argument on why you should be part of this epic event as we check off the calendar at 20 years of the HURT 100. If you feel you’re one of these people, we want to hear from you.

The Legacy 20 will start at 8:30 am, and consist of one 20 mile loop of the HURT 100 course. Legacy 20 runners will be on the course with runners during the 2020 HURT 100. It is a must do event for those who want to connect with runners you have run with in the past.
