The 12th Edition of Ultra Fuego y Agua Nicaragua is a unique series of trail runs like no other. It is not going to be easy to make it to the finish line and by saying this, we do not mean to scare you, but rather we want you to be as prepared as you can possible be. You will have the opportunity to run around, up and down 2 volcanoes in a small island in Nicaragua. Ometepe is located right in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, it has all it needs to have an epic run. The terrain includes dirt trail, sandy beach, paved road, and very technical single track trail, a chaotic web of trees, disappearing trail and mud. And the ascent and descent to Concepcion and Madera’s volcanoes. Over 6000mts of elevation gain and 3 distances to choose from. Challenge yourself in an epic run in one of the most exotic places in the world.

The Gran Fondo de Ometepe 2025 offers exciting MTB challenges, circumnavigating the entire island against the stunning backdrop of twin volcanoes, Concepción and Maderas. The routes are combining diverse terrains, including gravel paths, dirt trails, and picturesque countryside roads, ensuring a thrilling off-road experience. Cyclists can choose to tackle the route on gravel or mountain bikes.

The journey begins at a central starting point, where participants set off to conquer the volcanic landscapes and lush greenery that define Ometepe. The route features a serene beachfront stretch along Lake Nicaragua and constant scenic views of the Volcanoes.

Aid stations strategically placed along the route provide essential support, ensuring cyclists stay hydrated and fueled. With a generous time frame from sunrise to sunset, participants can savor the island's beauty, take breaks at their own pace, and complete the challenge within the allotted time.

The Gran Fondo de Ometepe culminates in a finish line celebration, featuring live music and a festive atmosphere.
