Event Description
This is a great urban ultra to start spring off with a bang! This event near Knoxville, TN (USA), has quickly become very popular, always filling before registration closes. With distances from 13.1 to 150 miles, there's something for everyone!
Runners get some great swag at check-in and are pampered by some really nice volunteers, spoiled with amazing support at heated aid stations, enjoy camaraderie with plenty of other crazy ultra runners, and can score some really cool finisher's awards. This is a great race for first time and seasoned ultra runners alike. Walkers and push rims are welcome too. We’re here to have a good time!

Here are some great reasons to sign up: shed winter pounds, break in new running gear, ease into ultra running before tougher challenges, push your distance limits, prove your ability, enjoy running with friends, and simply because you can!
So get your summertime bod in shape by running, walking, or crawling(!) multiple loops of approximately 10 miles of the lighted, paved linear Alcoa-Maryville Greenway Trail along Pistol Creek. Pick your distance. Options include a the Pistol Creek half and full marathon, or the full-bore Pistol Ultra Run 50K, 50 miler, 100K, and/or 100 miler.
The event is hosted at the Alcoa Springbrook Pool Center, less than 2 miles from Knoxville’s McGee-Tyson Airport. The 50K starts at 7:55 AM EDT Saturday morning, and the 100K/100 Miler both start at 8:00 AM EDT. The 50 Miler starts at 8:00 PM EDT Saturday evening. The half and the full marathon at 8:00 AM EDT Sunday. All races end at 4:00 PM EDT Sunday (a 32 hour cutoff for the 50K/100K/100 miler, 20 hours for the 50 miler, and 8 hours for the half and full marathons). The last official 100 mile finisher wins the coveted Slowest Draw Award!. For all the details, visit http://pistolultra.org.
The uber cool double barrel award, will be awarded to those who complete either the 50K or 100K starting Saturday morning, AND the 50 miler Saturday night! To join the "double-your-fun" party, simply select the 50K/50M Double button when registering. Or if you're ultra-crazy, select the 100K/50M Double button. And if that's not enough, go REALLY big and choose the 100M/50M Double. :-)
And of course there are awesome finisher's awards specific to each distance, including the highly coveted 100 Mile Pistol Buckle.

Aid stations and warming areas are only for registered runners, their active pacer at the time, and race volunteers/support staff. All others will need to courteously avoid these runner designated areas so registered runners can have full, unimpeded access/use.
Aid Station 1 - The Long Run Store will host the main aid station at the start/finish area at Springbrook Pool. Fully Stocked Aid Staition with warming areas available for runners.
Aid Station 2 (1.90 miles & 8 miles) Fully Stocked Aid Staition with warming areas available for runners.
Aid Station 3 (3.4 Miles & 6.5 Miles) will be hosting the a full service aid station about Fully Stocked Aid Staition with warming areas available for runners.

Plan to arrive Friday afternoon for check-in, packet/swag pick-up, score some official Pistol gear at the Pistol Store, meet other runners in the family, and enjoy other pre-race activities. It will be held at the Hilton/Knoxville Airport Conference Room. There is space close by along the course where you can set up your own personal support area. There are REAL indoor heated restrooms at a couple of locations along the course. In addition to awesome aid stations and amazing runner support, all participants receive a FREE finisher's food truck meal ticket. Yes, you will definitely be spoiled! Can't get any better for a spring race!
