Saturday, April 17th- 50k race, wave start

We just added a few non-competitive 5 and 15 mile spots on Saturday since we were not at cap for 50k.

Sunday, April 18th- 5 & 15-mile race, wave start


Monday, April 5th we sent an email to all runners to request your start time.

We are assigning start times on 4/8 and mail them to all runners

Start times with runners name will be listed on website. You must start at your assigned start time. If you are late, then you will need to start at 9 am.

Runners that start the race outside of their assigned start time with be disqualified (with exception of starting at the late slot of 9 am)


ADDRESS:Veterans Acres Main parking lot in Crystal Lake, IL 60014. 431 N. Walkup Crystal Lake, IL 60014 8 am start with packet pickup starting at 6:30 am.

Saturday exceptions

On Saturday, we will allow you to drop to the 15 mile or 5 mile distance, but you will not be eligible for overall or Age Group awards.

50k runners are the only runners that are competing for AG or overall awards on Saturday.
5 mile and 15 mile runners are competing on Sunday.

The beautiful course features winding single track, rolling hills, blossoming spring flowers, open prairie, and pine forest
Earth Day trail races make a perfect goal race or last long run before Ice Age 50 & 50k.

Race shirts

Race shirt order goes in on February 10th

We order more shirts than entrants we let in.

Sign up early to be sure to get the size you want

Shirt size preference will go to the first people to sign up.


The course is a 5 mile loop. There is one major aid station at the start/finish line. We will have homemade goodies as well as typical ultra food:
cookies, PB & J, Sportsdrink, soda, chips, pretzels

We are working towards making this race "landfill free" so please bring your own water bottle.

Rules for Award winners

You can only win an award in the race distance you are registered for. If you plan to drop to a shorter distance race, you must make the change by April 8th. If you do this, you will still be eligible to win overall or AG award in the distance you are listed in. Race day or changes made after April 8th can not win awards.

Course Description

The course runs through single track, rolling hills that will challenge and help you. The course is set up as a PR trail race.

All races will start together. We will start in the ball field and run around the pond to allow runners to spread out before they hit the single track.

1st Overall Male and Female will receive an award. They will be taken out of AG awards.

I understand that race registration fees are not refundable under any circumstance, race registrations are not transferable to other participants or to a future years event. Please consider these factors carefully before completing your registration.
