About the event
Have you ever wondered just how far you could run in 12 hours or 24 hours or maybe even 48 hours on a smooth, level surface? Well, here is your chance. The Endless Mile will be held at Veteran's Park in Alabaster, Alabama on October 21, 22 & 23. The park is 26 miles south of downtown Birmingham, and 16 miles south of I 459. The address of the park is 7305 Highway 119, Alabaster, AL 35007. The course is USATF Certified and a fraction over a mile in length, exactly 1.00203 miles. Runners will circle the path as many times as they can in allotted time. The even will be electronically chip timed, instantly recording and displaying the exact distance covered.
The course is USATF Certified at exactly a 1.00203 mile loop through the park. You can't get much closer to a mile than that. The hiking paths are asphalt, very flat and smooth and winds along through wooded areas and past several lakes. The 90 acre park also contains picnic areas, picnic shelters, two playgrounds, real restrooms with running water, soccer fields and a youth baseball complex. Some trails are shaded and will provide very pleasant running. Click on the link to the Endless Mile website (above) to find a Google Maps link to Veteran's Park in Alabaster. On the website you will also find more pictures of the park and short video lap around the course.
Endless Mile Relay
You don't want to run 12 or 24 Hours, or 48 Hours, then start or join a relay team. Build a team of any size from 4 up to 12 people for the 12 hour or create a relay team for the 24 or 48 hour with from 4 to 16 members. Four performance blend shirts will go with each team registration and finisher medals go to all team members whose team finished their event. We will have an award for the team that covers the most miles in the 12 hour, the 24 hour and the 48 hour. Each team member will be allowed to run as much or as little as they desire. Set up your own support tent, bring your cheering section and go for the win. Details on the Endless Mile Website
