2016 Race Results
Results from the 2016 Fall Fling 400, 11/13/16
Come join the CT Trailmixers for the Fall Fling trail runs! We’re offering several runs through the beautiful but challenging trails of YMCA Camp Sloper for you and your friends to choose from:
• The Fall Fling 400: In this casual-style ultra, you can run as many loops of two-mile trail course as you’d like as long as you're done within 400 minutes (6 hours 40 minutes).
• 5k: A course that combines some of the same trills with fields and woods.
• 1-mile kids run.
This is a great opportunity to give trail running a try, especially if you’re fresh off one of Connecticut’s many fall road races.
We’ll also have a potluck-style brunch-type picnic during the event, so feel free to bring food, friends and family. And don’t forget to wear layers for warmth before and after your race. It is November in New England after all.

Fall Fling 400 Ultra Trail and Course Description
The main course is a somewhat technical roughly two-mile loop with moderately rolling hills and about 275 feet of elevation gain. It's run mostly on trails, but includes some grass sections. Parts of the course are covered with rocks and roots, while other sections are smoother. The course will be marked. 400-minute run participants will complete as many two-mile loops as they’d like within the six-hour 40-minute timeframe.
5k Run Trail and Course Description
5k participants will run one loop of a separate course at Camp Sloper that combines some of the same trails with hills, fields, and woods.
1-Mile Kids Run Description
1-mile kids run participants will run one trail loop around the pond.
Fall Fling 400 ultra: $20 (before race day) / $25 (race day)
5k: $10 (before race day) / $15 (race day)
1-mile kids run: Free
The fees help cover the costs related to this event, including food, supplies, and equipment. (Thank you!) Please note there are no refunds.
The two-mile loop will start and finish at the main pavilion at Camp Sloper. You’ll need to check-in with a volunteer at the end of each loop so we can track how many loops you complete.
Runners will have access to traditional basic trail ultra food, such as fruit, potatoes, chips, candies, cookies, water and electrolyte replacement liquid. If you have specific nutritional needs, please bring your own stuff. You’ll be able to keep a drop bag at the pavilion.
