Worlds End Fall Classic - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

The Worlds End Fall Classic has a reputation as one of the toughest and most scenic trail half marathons in the state.

The Worlds End Fall Classic is a challenging half marathon that explores Worlds End State Park and Loyalsock State Forest in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. The route is mostly rugged, scenic-dense single-track trails with multiple waterfalls and vistas of the beautiful Endless Mountains and has an elevation gain of 3,200 ft. We support you with 2 aid stations and challenge you with a strict 5 hour cutoff. Though this race has no qualification standards or registration restrictions, be aware that this is not an entry level course for a trail novice. You should have some trail experience before attempting this course.

If you have no desire to compete in the East Coast SmackDown, you should sign up for the standard half marathon event! Those who want to compete for the prestige to be called SmackDown Champion and earn a crystal award should sign up for the SmackDown event.

The East Coast SmackDown!

East Coast SMACKDOWN!

The East Coast SmackDown is the pinnacle of grassroots trail half marathon racing on the east coast. Nestled within the breathtaking wilderness of Worlds End State Park, this event promises to push participants to their limits while immersing them in the rugged beauty of Pennsylvania's untamed terrain. And although the SmackDown demands your full attention and energy, don't forget to look up since this race showcases the park's stunning vistas, with viewpoints overlooking the valleys, waterfalls, unique rock formations, and the serenity of Loyalsock Creek. While this race ranks in the top ten of hardest half marathons on the east coast, the beauty of Worlds End State Park is an integral part of this championship race.

We’ve devised this SmackDown as a chance for everyday runners to pit themselves against the wild beauty of the region and against the best athletes in the region - and to do so as a grassroots effort to engage in more friendly and rewarding competition without being encumbered by big sponsors or outside influences. You don't need to be part of any club or pay dues to some organization, we invite all those who think they have the determination and daring to compete in an awesome place like Worlds End to join us at the SmackDown.

We take great pride in recognizing and celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our winners. The top male and female finishers in the overall category will receive the coveted title of "East Coast SmackDown Champion." In addition to the bragging rights, they will be awarded stunning crystal awards that represent their status as the best of the best in East Coast trail running. Those who place second and third will also receive an award! We also recognize that champions are not just the young guns and our sport of trail running encompasses those with a long resume spanning decades. With that in mind, The East Coast SmackDown will present awards to the top overall finishers in the Masters category (40 and over) along with second and third place!

The East Coast SmackDown is not just a race; it's an unforgettable experience that unites trail runners and showcases the untamed grandeur of Worlds End State Park, making it a must-attend event for all trail running champions.
