Course Description
The race begins and ends near the Everett Covered Bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The runners run up a steep incline up the Oak Hill Trail about 1/2 mile to the Furnace Run Connector, which is before the Environmental Educational Center. DO NOT GO TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER! You will turn left and immediately turn right on Oak Hill Road for about 1/2 mile. At the Oak Hill Trailhead Parking area turn right and continue into the parking area. At the back of the lot you will see the bathroom. Turn left to the Plateau Trail. You will run this trail counterclockwise (right turn) to Sylvan Pond and continue to Meadow Edge Pond. When you reach Meadow Edge Pond you continue on the Plateau Trail down to the Valley Picnic Area where there will be an unmanned water drop. Leaving the Valley Picnic Area, runners will turn around and continue up the Plateau Trail back to the Oak Hill Parking area and run back to the Covered Bridge the way you came. Once returning to the Covered Bridge runners will run one loop on the challenging Perkins and Riding Run Trail (BBA 50K course) and cross back over the Covered Bridge to finish.
