State Park Series

State Park Series (SPS)

Welcome to Trail Maniacs State Park Series. When we first started Trail Maniacs I wanted to offer a race series that showcased the awesome trails in our state parks. Wow, I had no idea Trail Maniacs would grow this much and be so amazing! For 2017 we decided to keep our courses fresh and we are changing things up a little bit, well a lot actually! We are excited to announce that we are changing our race distances and will now offer a 10k course, 25k course and to challenge all of you ultra-distance folks, each state park race will offer a 50k course! While the 50k distance is challenging, if you have ever wanted to “dip your toes” into that distance these races will be perfect! Most of you are familiar with Trail Maniac races - we don’t give away finisher medals at each race; but we will give you a great race course, tons of free prize giveaways, an amazing post-race meal including adult beverages, and our series finale offers the most unique award that you will ever receive! 2017 is only getting better! Don’t worry if you cannot participate in the series though, each of our races offers a unique challenge, a ton of swag, and the post-race is worth the price of admission. Pick the race that fits your schedule best and we look forward to meeting you. If you are new to trail running start with the 10k course and go from there – c’mon its just 6-ish miles, what could possible go wrong?!

SPS is a trail run point series and will include the 10k, 25k and 50k distances. We will count your best 4 out of 5 races in the series. SPS will include five state parks from two states (Idaho and Washington) one race per month from May thru October. SPS will have over $6,000.00 in prizes for the overall series. These prizes are possible because of our great sponsors REI Spokane, Altra, Nathan, Clif Bar, Nuun and special thanks to our local running store Fleet Feet Coeur d Alene. And the series is a part of the Trail Runner Magazine trophy series Come stay the weekend, each of the state parks offer camping and showers!

Important stuff

Welcome to Riverside State Park.  What makes this run at Riverside so special?

*** WE WILL START AND FINISH OUT OF THE BOWL AND PITCHER CAMPING AREA***

What a great venue to hold a race, camping, showers, bathrooms and a great picnic shelter to have the post race party. Come stay the weekend,  will be here and September is a perfect month to camp. Typical temperatures in September range with a high in the mid 70’s and lows in the low 50’s. I know that it is September but let’s celebrate Octoberfest!!! That’s right: brats, sauerkraut, potato salad and adult beverages from Slate Creek and Daft Badger.  Come stay the weekend, camping at this time of the year is on a first come first serve basis so no need for reservations.

Discover pass is required!

I am looking forward to hanging out with all of you and if you have not run with Trail Maniacs before, I think you’re in for a treat. You see we are about the friendships and companionship that trail running gives, we are not about a race medals or trinkets. I think the memories and free race photos are priceless.
