Pocatello Changes for 2014
The Pocatello 50 is now the Scott Mountain Ultra Trail. Please see the event page for details.
Course
The Pocatello 50+ Mile Trail Run will take the competitors on a very challenging tour of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest outside of Pocatello, Idaho. It should be noted that this is an mountain running event taking place in the spring-time, in Idaho. Translated this means potentially very tough course conditions, and very unpredictable weather as was proven in 2010. Approach this course and the area with respect and come prepared for just about anything.
The 50+ mile race will start at 6:00 AM sharp at the Mink Creek Pavilion (legs 1, 2, and 3)
The 50+km race will start at 8:30 AM sharp at the City Creek Trail-head (legs 2 and 3)
The 20 mile race will start at 11:00 AM sharp at the Mink Creek Pavilion (leg 3)

Important Information
The Pocatello 50 is making a strong commitment to reduce its environmental impact. One of the largest areas of waste for the race is the use of cups at aid stations. Last year we introduced a no cup policy, meaning that the race would not be providing cups at any of the aid stations. Many racers still came unprepared and we did end up using cups particularly for the shorter races. This year each racer will receive a non-disposable UltrAspire cup. This cup is designed to be very packable and light so that it can be carried by a racer for the entire event. If you plan on consuming ANY liquids at the aid stations you must have the cup we provide or another adequate replacement. Thank you for joining with us in this effort to reduce our impact on the planet!
