About Big Dog's Backyard Ultra
In October of 2022 there were National Championship events held in 37 countries, with the winners of those events qualifying for the individual World Backyard Ultra Championships in October of 2023. In addition to those national champions, the field will be fleshed out to 75 runners off an At Large list of all the remaining best runners in the world.
If you are not familiar with the Backyard Ultra concept, it is a race that is decided not by size, strength, or speed, but by the sheer will to win. This means that, unlike other world championship events, Big's Backyard Ultra might be won by any of the 75 runners who toe the line in October.
