Mountain Magic Trail Run

Mt. Spokane, WA 25K, 10K

This Event Took Place Sat. Jun 30, 2018

main description

Mountain Magic 10k / 25k Trail Run
June 30, 2018
Mt. Spokane State Park Nordic Ski Trails - Selkirk Lodge

Take in the gorgeous Mt. Spokane Nordic ski trails in all their early-summer glory! Wide-open views, rolling terrain and mostly-non-technical running make for a fast and free running experience. The course features two separate loops with only 1 km of overlap. The 10k loop has mild elevation for most portions (by mountain trail run standards); while the 15k loop, which is run after the 10k loop to make the 25k course, includes some reasonably challenging elevations throughout.

The trails are wide and airy, but a lot of it is still basically single-track, so you get some great views along the way. It’s also one of the less technical trail runs in the area, without a lot of rocks to trip you up, so you can get up a good rhythm. And it’s flat-out gorgeous, especially at this time of year. There are a couple of kilometers of gravel road, but they're nestled in the pines.

Expect a fully-stocked aid station at the center intersection of the loops, and hearty post-race refreshments.
