The Pacific Northwest's Alpine Trailfest

Welcome to Wy'east Trailfest, featuring a trio of world class mountain trail race courses covering some of Mt. Hood’s most diverse and famous terrain, with 50K, 28K and 14K loop-style routes and a 3-day Triple Crown option! Climbing to 8000’ elevation on Wy'east (the native ancestral name for Mt. Hood), each course offers incredible views, with rugged volcanic alpine trails up high and lush meadow and forest trails down below for a truly epic mountain trail race experience.

Mt. Hood Meadows

Staged at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Area, Wy’east Trailfest combines equal parts grassroots trail community vibes with a higher level production event where we celebrate our sport, honor the mountain and recognize each other’s accomplishment with awards, excellent food, craft beverages, and fun activities on the ski lodge’s Sun Deck finish line.

50K

The 50K is held on Saturday, July 22 and offers a world class loop-style route, run twice on volcanic alpine ridgelines up high, and deep forests, wildflower meadows and waterfalls down low. This is a true mountain race, starting at Mt. Hood Meadows at 5400’ elevation, traveling as low at 4500’ and up to 8000’ high on the volcano. Elevation change involves 8,100' of gain, 8,100' of loss across a full spectrum of PNW terrain, from forested, smooth dirt singletrack to steep, technical, exposed and sometimes scrambly rocky trails. Spectacular views abound from start to finish!

28K

The 28K is set for Sunday, July 23, featuring a world class loop-style course on volcanic alpine ridgelines up the high country, and deep forests, wildflower meadows and waterfalls down low. This is a true mountain race, starting at Mt. Hood Meadows at 5400’ elevation, traveling as low at 4500’ and up to 8000’ high on the volcano, covering 17.7 miles. Elevation change involves 4,200' of gain and 4,200' of loss across a full spectrum of PNW terrain, from forested, smooth dirt singletrack to steep, technical, exposed and sometimes scrambly rocky trails. Spectacular views abound from start to finish!

14K Hill Climb

The 14K course is Friday, July 21 with a high noon start! The course offers a world class loop-style route on volcanic alpine trails for a very challenging mountain race, starting at Mt. Hood Meadows at 5400’ elevation, climbing up to 8000’ on the volcano before descending back down for the finish. The course is as grueling as it is beautiful. Elevation change involves a whopping 2,700' of gain and 2,700' of loss in just 8.9 miles, crossing a full spectrum of PNW terrain, from forested, smooth dirt singletrack to steep, technical, exposed and sometimes scrambly, bouldery trails. Spectacular views abound from start to finish!
