The Mountain Marathon is a 27.5-mile race that has a burly 8,000' of gain! The route begins going up the backside of Elk Mountain, then over and down Kings and then back up to the Elk Mountain summit via the steep and technical trail the 25K runners take to the top. Did we say it is burly?
The 25K is a steep and technical course run on single-track trails in the Tillamook State Forest. Runners will summit two mountains – Elk and Kings – and involve 5,800 feet of gain. There are a number of sections requiring small scrambles as well as very steep descents on rocky – and sometimes muddy (= slick) trails. This is NOT your typical 25K trail race. We recommend you run the course prior to race day to give you an understanding what this course will throw at you.
The 50K seems to be an easier race, but still has 6,500' of elevation gain. This course is run on single-track, along the Wilson River. The course is a double out and back, first heading west on the Wilson River trail before coming back to the start area and then going east to the base of Elk Mountain where you'll turn around and run back to the finish.
All races finish at the beautiful Tillamook Forest Center.
If you need to cancel your registration and it’s more than 30 days prior to the race, you will receive a 50% credit toward a future Go Beyond Racing race. This credit is equal to half the value of the race you registered for and can be applied to any of our races that aren’t already sold out. You can use this credit within 365 days of it being issued. There is no transferring of this credit. If your cancellation is 30 days or less from race day, there is no credit, no refund, or no transfer.
