This Event Took Place Sat. Apr 20, 2019

01 · THE RACE

North Shore to South.

Shore2Shore is a point-to-point 50K and 25K on the full length of the Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail — one of the best-kept secrets in Northeast trail running.

You start on the north shore at Sunken Meadow, drop through towns and trails, duck under Sunrise Highway, and finish at Heckscher State Park on the south shore. Looks flat on paper. Isn't. The terrain shifts, the road crossings break your rhythm, and the back half finds ways to surprise you. Plenty of people have laid down solid days here — but it's more honest as a season opener than a PR attempt.

02 · THE COURSE

  • Trail work — a Greenbelt work day, a Happily Running volunteer day, or any local trail org

  • Donate $20 or more to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference
