Jam on Tam - Virtual Trail Time Trial

Mill Valley, CA 3.29 Miler

This Event Took Place Wed. Jan 30, 2019

Jam on Tam

You can sign up and run this virtual event anytime between now and January 30th.

MTSP (Mt Tam State Park) hours: In order to comply with State regulations and rules, please note that Mt Tamalpais park hours are sunrise to sunset. We do not advise running outside of this window.

As to make the 100K attempt a little easier, go ahead and do it in two consecutive days to fall within the hours of operation for the park. For example, do 5 ascents one day and 4 the next. Go run a trail... or go hike a trail.

Pacific Coast Trail Runs and San Francisco Running Company present this Strava based virtual "Tam Trails Time Trials" running event. Once you enter, you can run it as many times as you like. We are only ordering 100 pairs of arm sleeves with the "Jam on Tam" - Tam Trails Time Trials logo.

The goal and primary focus of this event is to bring awareness to runners that it's important to buy your running gear at your local small business running store such as San Francisco Running Company. It's also an opportunity to bring more runners into Mill Valley to support other local businesses such as cafes, restaurants, bookstores, clothing retailers, art studios and more who all compete against online shopping which is slowly chipping away at our retail businesses with a store front. The first quarter (January through March) is the slowest time of the year for retail and we hope that just a little bit more foot/running traffic will help. Another reason to create this event is to promote "Virtual Running". We often hear from runners and hikers that their work schedule (weekends) or family life gets in the way of training or entering our events. By letting runners do it on their own time, we now include more opportunity for all to experience our trail running community in other ways.

One Tam

There are many great organizations around the bay area that focus on the well being of the trails we run on and the environment they evolve with. One Tam is an organization we are proud to support. For more information and/or about how to contribute, please go here: One Tam Information Link

About One Tam:
It’s through community support that Mt. Tam has been protected for 100 years. And it’s through One Tam that we can protect it for 100 more. But we need your help. Tam’s land managers have the honor of protecting some of the most beautiful, ecologically rich, and well-loved open spaces in the region, and an important source of drinking water. To meet their missions, they must contend with numerous challenges.

One Tam seeks to raise awareness about the need to maintain the long-term health of Mt. Tam, engage more volunteers in caring for its treasured resources, and renew the spirit of philanthropy that has been so fundamental to the preservation of Mt. Tam over the past century.
