RACE DESCRIPTION
Come hallucinate with us! This is the 5th annual event in the Tortoise and the Hare Race Series! It is the first of our Trail Series! Run your best 3, 6, 12 or 24 hrs on a flat 1.2 mile loop course in North Georgia! Set in the scenic Boling Park in the small town of Canton, GA. It's a hot, midsummer night. While most people are in bed dreaming, you'll be LIVING out your dream of accomplishing that Ultramarathon distance or PR that's been eluding you. (We had 100 mile finishers last year! If you accomplish running 100 miles we will mail to you a customized BELT BUCKLE!) Come run with a group of friends and/or meet other runners from around the country as you share a midsummer's night on a trail. There is plenty of room in the open field in the center of the loop to set up your tents, campers and personal aid stations.

COURSE
The course is a 1.2 mile loop that is part gravel and part hard packed dirt. In the center of the loop is a large oval grass area where all hour runners can set up tents/personal aid stops. We will have flood lights in the main field and glow sticks and lanterns will light the outer .2 mile loop giving it a "Midsummer Night's Dream" enchanting look and feel. You may even see a few familiar Shakespeare characters! We will have one fully stocked aid station with something sweet and something salty as well as fluids, so no need to carry anything - you're always just a mile or so away from the aid station! Don't forget your headlamp! - See more at: http://midsummernightsdream.racesonline.com/course

FAQ
REGISTRATION, PACKET PICKUP, GENERAL RACE QUESTIONS
Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding registration and packet pickup:
CAN I PICKUP A PACKET FOR A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?
Yes.
ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED AT PACKET PICKUP?
Yes.
WHEN AND WHERE IS PACKET PICKUP?
Packet pick-up will be held on-site race day from 8-8:45 pm.
AM I GUARANTEED A RACE SHIRT?
Every participant is guaranteed a shirt. Everyone registered prior to June 7th will have the shirt size they selected during online registration. Packet pickup and same day registrants will receive a shirt on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do our best to get everyone the size they want.
WHAT IF I NEED TO EXCHANGE FOR A DIFFERENT SHIRT SIZE?
After the race, you can exchange your shirt from the remaining sizes available.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE HOURLY WAVES?
This race is chip timed, so your laps will begin when you cross the starting line. If you are changing to a shorter hourly wave, you don't need to do anything to change your wave start time. Simply begin with the start wave of your choice. If you want to "upgrade" your distance to a longer hourly wave, send us an email info@tortoiseandthehareracing.com.
ARE PACERS ALLOWED?
Pacers are allowed but they need to sign a waiver and bring their own fuel.
WHAT TYPE OF TIMING IS BEING USED?
TATHR Event Timing will be timing the event. We will use our new, state of the art MyLaps Bibtag Timing System. Your timing chip will be on the back of your racing number bib. Participants must wear their number on the FRONT of their outer most garment. Participants must wear a race number bib to get an official time and be included in the results.
WHERE CAN I FIND RESULTS AFTER THE RACE?
Results will be posted on the race website online and can be found by scanning the QR code on your bib. You may also enter the Results Kiosk after the race and type in your bib number on one of the laptops to receive a print out of your time and pace. We will also be uploading the results to Ultrasignup.
-We no longer mail medals. If you leave and have placed or finished and didn't get your medal it will be donated to charity. See more at: https://midsummernightsdream.racesonline.com/faq
