Due to the current situation with COVID-19 in the US. We have regretfully decided to cancel the 2020 Grasslands Trail Run. We’d like to ask all runners who were registered for the event to be patient while we work through this difficult time.
We look forward to hosting you next year on March 20, 2021 (Tentative date).

The Grasslands Trail Run is held in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands, more than 20,000 acres managed by the U.S. Forest Service and situated north of Fort Worth. The trails loop among rolling hills and through a mixture of pine and oak grove forests, open fields, and livestock.
The race uses a series of trails that start and finish at TADRA Point Trailhead. The half marathon uses the blue trail; the marathon uses the white and blue trails; and 50-mile runners will start with a correction loop, followed by the blue, white, yellow and red trails. The course map shows all loops with aid stations marked.
We will have packet pick up on Thursday and Friday evening. We will update info as the date gets closer.

Packet pick up and same-day registration will be open until 8:30 a.m. However, we recommend that all participants arrive early to allow time to pick up your packet, race chip, and get ready for your race.
Race Swag and Awards
All participants will receive a short-sleeved race shirt. People love our shirts--they are soft, tri-blend shirts that are super comfortable.
All finishers will earn a finisher’s medal, unique to their race distance.
The top 3 male and female finishers, and the top male and female Master’s finishers (40+), in all three distances will earn prizes. Each year, we try to find something that you'll really use. Past awards have included gear bags, seat towels, insulated engraved cups, coolers, etc.
One of the best parts of the Grasslands Trail Run is the race community. We serve all participants a fully catered post-race meal. You won't want to miss the fun! Tickets for family and friends can also be purchased when you register if you have guests attending the race.
Other Race Details
This is a cupless race. Please bring your own hydration device to carry and consume fluids on the course. Water and Tailwind will be available at all aid stations along with favorite food items such as bananas, oranges, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, Oreos, fig cookies, soda, Salt Stick and much more.
Supplies for 50-Mile and Marathon participants can be left in drop bags at the Start/Finish aid station. Remember to pick up your drop bag at the end of the race.
Time Cut Off
Participants must leave the TADRA Point – Start/Finish Aid Station (mile 41.1) by 4:30 PM to start their final loop. This means participants should be able to reach mile 41.1 in 10 1/2 hours (15:19 min/mi pace.)
Participants must leave the Windmill 2 aid station (mile 44.7) by 5:30 PM.
Participants who do not meet these cut-offs will be politely removed from the course to begin enjoying their post-race meal.
Participants must reach the Red Ant Pond aid station before it closes at 2:00 PM.
Marathon participants should be able to reach this aid station (mile 22.9) within 6 1/2 hours (17:02 min/mi pace.)
Half-Marathon participants should be able to reach this aid station (mile 10.1) within 5 1/2 hours (32:40 min/mi pace.)
Pacers are only allowed with 50-Mile participants for the final loop. No exceptions. Runners with pacers cannot earn top place finish.
We understand that things come up. If you can no longer run the race, if you let us know more than one month in advance, you will receive 100% race credit for another Blaze Trails Running event. If you let us know between one month and two weeks prior to race day, you will receive 50% race credit towards another Blaze Trails Running event. We will not allow any refunds or transfers less than two weeks before race day. No exceptions.

Bib transfers to another runner are allowed up until the two weeks prior to the race only if the race has not sold out. If you are interested in transferring your bib to another person, please contact us immediately. It is very important for the safety of all runners that we have the correct contact and medical information. If the shirt order has already been placed, the person you transfer to agrees to accept the shirt size that you ordered. A $15 administration fee (plus transaction fee) will be charged to the person who is accepting the bib transfer. We do not allow transfers if the event has sold out and have a wait list. In that case, we will follow the posted refund policy and allow the next person on the wait list to register. We require transfers to be completed no later than two weeks prior to the race. This allows us to keep our focus on producing the event and other important race details during the race week. If you contact us in the last two weeks to ask for a transfer, we will not reply and the transfer is not allowed. No exceptions.
Refund and/or transfer requests must be made in writing by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Refunds are only processed as credit to a future event.
I further understand that I am not entitled to a refund if the race director and/or race officials are forced to cancel the race due to any participant safety issue on the course that is out of the race organizer’s control. This may include, but is not limited to flooding, lightning or any other weather condition that makes the course unsafe for participants.
