We added a 100 mile distance to the Loco course in 2019! Since then, the course has seen changes and evolved every year since. With the Dixie fire (2021) burning much of the course areas we used the first year, we will likely use the 2021 course. This course is a fun, challenging course that will keep runners on their toes. With very little pavement runners can enjoy dirt trails, fire roads, potential creek crossings and several challenging elevation hikes.
Loco aid stations are well stocked with electrolytes, water and hot, cold, sweet and salty ultra foods. Vegan, vegetarian & GF options available. Stations are ran by enthusiastic and helpful volunteers and attentive medics. Runners can expect to enjoy areas called Coyote Head, Coyote Butt, Squiggly Leg and the beloved Lollipop Loop.
Pacers can pick up at Mile 54, 69 & 81 and crew has access to 7 locations throughout the course. Participants have 32 hours to complete the course and can enjoy a post race meal at the finish line.

This race has real food at the aid stations, enthusiastic volunteers and a challenging course. Earn a beautifully engraved, leather belt when you come through the finish line and stay while we make you one of our infamous Loaded Loco Grilled Cheese sandwiches to celebrate your victory. This course is mostly dirt and gravel forestry roads, with some of the most incredible views around. Runners will have the opportunity to put their all terrain skills to the test on the new Coyote Head Loop where they will be met with an approximate 2.5 mile rocky, elevation challenge that rivals the Jonesville Beast. Beat the Coyote head and claim victory at the finish line! Those wanting trekking poles to use during Coyote Head can pick them up at the Start/Finish Line Aid Station, around mile 8 (leave them LABELED) in designated area at the start line, prior to start of race. Grab your delicious post race meal at the finish line! Is your 4 legged friend your training buddy? If your doggy is in shape to run with you on this 13.1 mile adventure, we welcome him or her to join you. When they cross the finish line, they even get a medallion! Please consider having your furry friend wear doggie shoes, to protect their paws. This distance has a cap of 100 runners. We keep it low so that you can enjoy an uncrowded race through the woods!
