***COURSE REROUTE FOR 2026***
The 2026 Leadville Turquoise Lake 20K will take place on a REROUTED COURSE due to recent storm damage. Our standard course and distance will be back in 2027.
2026 distance: 15.94 miles
2026 elevation gain: 1,359 feet

From the start line near Matchless Boat Ramp, runners will travel COUNTERCLOCKWISE on the paved road until reaching the Butcher Boy aid station at 10 miles. Runners then follow the singletrack for 5.5 miles along the lake to the finish. This is approximately 3.5 miles longer with ~500ft more vertical gain than the traditional course.
We offer an optional early start at 8:00 AM for runners who would prefer additional time on the course.
Proceeds benefit Leadville youth athletics and recreation (Children's Fishing Day, Nordic team, etc).
7:15am-8:30am: Pickup bib at Matchless Boat Ramp
9:00am: Race Starts

17 and under: FREE
Parking is extremely limited. We beg people to car pool. Rocky Mountain Rec charges a nominal day use fee per vehicle at Turquoise Lake ($11). Anyone that is already staying in a Rocky Mountain Rec managed campground in the area does not need to pay this fee, just be sure your hang-tag is displayed in your vehicle.
